Today we started with our business simulation. We met at 8:45 a.m. at the Corporate State University. We were divided into two groups which presented different markets. Each group got a short overview how the simulation will work and what we had to do.

In every market there were five companies that produce copiers. Every company had different starting conditions. At every company five to six students acted as executive board. First, to be able to master the challenges of our business every participant was sent to an expert group out of the following five departments:

Sales
Purchasing + Research & Development
Production
Personnel
Finance and Accounting

After these groups discussed about what is important in their department, they gave the other students a short overview about their department.

After these presentations we had Lunch at the cafeteria of the BWCSU with big pretzels, potato salad and salad with strips of sausages, onions, gherkins and an oil and vinegar dressing.

After lunch every company analysed their current situation and worked out a strategy for their company without knowing what the other companies would do. Afterwards the tutors started the computer simulation of the first period.
