Finishing Business

by chahnke
Day eleven of Summer School was the last day of the Business Simulation. In the morning the companies of the red and the blue market came together to get the results of the third period. Afterwards the last period started and the students had two last hours to reach their strategic goals and make their companies successful. The first three periods brought a lot of interesting results but even if a company did well in these periods the game was still open.

At 12 o’clock the last decisions had to be made and it was up to the lecturers to compute the consequences. After lunch the results for both markets were presented in the assembly rooms and there were a lot of happy but also a few disappointed faces. But both the winners and the ones who were not that successful had a great experience during the three days of the Business Simulation and learned a lot about the different aspects of leading a company and multicultural group work. In the Shareholders’ meeting which took place in the afternoon every group had to explain their decisions during the four periods, summarize their decision-making process and show how they managed their work within the group.

In the evening it was time to celebrate farewell in Karlsruhe. The participants went to the “Vogelbräu” where they had a nice time while eating a delicious dinner.
