At 9 am we were welcomed by Cathie-Anne Schneider at the IUT Strasbourg. She gave us a small summary about the week’s program and provided us all important information for our stay. The lecturers from the participating countries introduced themselves and told us about their projects at the Summer School. Afterwards it was time for us to start with our own practical work. In a crash course we were taught the basics of the French language. The students from Strasbourg did their best to make us remember this basics.

In the afternoon the groups came together to prepare their cooperate visits. For each of the following branches one group was built up: automotive, brewery and IT. After a small introduction held by the lectures, the groups were split into smaller teams which had to create questions focusing on specific details of the companies that they visited later. As the most important details strategy, marketing, human resources and processes & operations management were chosen.

Soon after we finished our work we were awaited by some speakers from the IUT and the administration of Strasbourg who welcomed us again and gave us their best wishes for the next two and a half weeks.

A bowling session with all the students was the final of an interesting day with a perfect chance to come closer with each other.
