The sun has just arrived

Our first session at the IUT today was held by our exclusive Romanian tutor Christina Segal. By discussing project management related topics, for the first part of today we focused on the differences between leaders and managers of a company. Besides being taught of their diverse tasks we also learned that we should all have the basic skills of a manager as most of us are educated for this kind of career.

For the second lecture held by Jean Martin, we regarded the different roles of the project team members. We answered a questionnaire and analysed our potential strengths. So we could see if we are coordinators, shapers, implementers, completer finishers, plants, monitor evaluators, resource investigators, team workers or specialists. The result of the questionnaire shows that most of us were shapers.

After having our comprehensive lunch in the cafeteria, David Moulton held an agile and metaphorical lecture about the motivation of employees as a major aspect of the collateral success of projects. During this amusing and amazing speech we were also filmed for a television broadcast.

Furthermore we ended up our questionnaire for the cooperative visits.

After a rainy and cold day the sun finally arrived in Strasbourg, too. At the end of the day we headed for a river boat trip on the Ill, where we get some new impressions of Strasbourg. Finally we had a drink or two at a nice bar in Strasbourg.
